The School of Essential Ingredients

Beautiful, beautiful story and words. Even with the lousy Bahasa translation it couldn't help but shining, ..and deliciously dripping :)

The plot was not uncommon, when it told you about the life of every student, how they couped with their own sadness, lost, and how the effect of essential ingredients took them into memories they'd been avoiding, being kept forever in a deep dark bottom closet of mind. The smell, the touch, the aroma they experienced in Lillian's classes and her unusual no-recipe teaching method brought them to face their fears and gave them back hope, excitement, contentment. It went back and forth from classroom to memory, to classroom again, and so forth, weaving the storyline with beautiful words of expressions i love so much.

Very worth reading. A must-read for food lovers, must-have for bakers and culinary enthusiasts, a must-must for me, who hasn't fully recovered from the last 2 months slavery.

I just wished Bentang Publisher would revise the translation. I will do it for half-price, you know, for the love of baking :)
