The world is a big school

with unexpected teachers.

The world is a big school, with unexpected teachers .
whether or not you want to be the student is up to you.

but it never runs out of lessons. small or big. easy or difficult.

teachers are guaranteed to show up every now and then.
they will show up when we're ready.

'coz the world is indeed a very big school.

What is a guitar?

-- the video --

[out of nowhere, this weekend, some urgent work came up. all needed to be finished by Sunday.
Man, whad'ya think i have no life? I don't. haha..!
two articles about open source and commercial software, the other one was an Aceh's report summary. the latter was for my very long time client, a master degree student who is, i think, still trying to finish his thesis. i finally did it to help him. so i gave him 'friend' price. told ya i'm a wonderful person :)
]

anyway..

the other day hubby brought home a vcd. it was titled GUITAR, period.
it turned out to be a very interesting video. someone in there talking about his journey to find the answer to "what is a guitar?". well, if he asked me i will immediately answer: "it's my husband's first wife".

unsurprisingly, i'm not alone in having that answer. according to some big names who appeared in the video (Steve Vai, Les Paul, Steve Lukather, Jeff "Skunk" Baxter, Brian May, Tony Tedesco, Joe Satriani, Jennifer Batten, Eric Johnson, Linda Buckingham, Al Dimeola, etc.) guitar is their friend, their shrink, their wife, practically their everything.

gee, dude, tell me something i don't know.

i was thrilled when the video showed 500 guitar players jammin' together in MI's auditorium. he was thrilled because it's his almamater. even the co founder of the school came up to the stage and gave his two minutes performance. how cool is that!

i know he was just about to cry :)

Nothing's more beautiful than..

an afternoon at home.

lavender sky.
hot tea,
a square of cinnamon cake,
John Grisham's The King of Torts,
sometimes a li'l chat with hubby.

{is it a sin to turn down a fortune?}
{i just turned down another job today: 4-days MC in a weekly basis children edutainment program. the job, i love. it's the agent i don't wanna have anything to do with.}

projects flooding!

Subhanallah.

ever since i left my last job, projects have been coming to me almost immediately, to the extend that i do not like taking any projects for the next two years :)

translations are always around --book and documents, website upgrade & development, MC, research project, cakes order..

tonight i got another website project to follow up, and suddenly i was like "wow".

Alhamdulillahirabbil alamin.
life's good. doing what i love. could not be more blessed (i got goosebump already).

truffles in my fridge

i have tons of truffles in my fridge!

you see, they were supposed to be the decoration of the engagement cake someone ordered. i had everything planned. coz this was my first engagement cake order, so i was excited!

it would be a two tiered heart shaped chocolate cakes, filled with tiramisu cream and ganache, all coated with chocolate, decorated with lots of truffles and chocolate dipped strawberries.
the best part is: when you finish eating the cake, you would find a poem on the base of the cake. a poem written by one of my relatives, about what a marriage is all about.
how perfet is that? even i was proud of myself :)

i guess the perfect cake was not yet to be seen by the public, because the groom-to-be decided to replace the cake with fruits. therefore, cancelled the order.

fruits! talking about picnic that is :D

it left me with around 60 truffles, hazelnut and cheese lemon filled, ready to eat, in my fridge.
my nephews and nieces would be so thrilled :)
